Newcastle’s Newest Short-distance event

What to Expect

The Bar Beach to Dixon Park Mile is a scenic, point‑to‑point 1‑mile road race along Newcastle’s iconic coastline.

The event features an elite field and an inclusive general field with a total capacity of ~2,000 participants.

A vibrant finish precinct at Dixon Park hosts sponsor activations, recovery, music, awards and media moments.

We are inviting cornerstone brands to partner with Newcastle’s newest running spectacle whilst raising money for the Mark Hughes Foundation. A commitment of sponsorship money and ticket sales will go towards this fundraising goal.

❋ ONE-MILE COURSE LENGTH

Short and fast. Yes, there may be a hill but what goes up must come down right? Road closures will ensure an uninterrupted race. No matter your pace, a mile PB is yours to take.

❋ VIBRANT ENERGY - START to FINISH

Following Newcastle’s most scenic route, beach views will guide your entire way. The course was designed with the runners in mind, but the supporters too. Space for the ENTIRE course to be lined with friends, family and strangers, all making noise and cheering for you.

❋ OFFICIAL TIMING

Chip timing because it is a race after all. Whether you’re racing the field or racing yourself, official tracking will keep you accountable.

Dedicated start waves and a brisk 6:45am start time* will ensure prime conditions for the run.
